Lani Stait is an actress based in Los Angeles who has a love for off-beat indie projects. Incredibly organized and driven, she is ready to make her mark!
As a filmmaker, Lani wrote and co-created with partner Emma Terrazas a 6-episode web series called “Lana and Emmy”. It’s a fun slice-of-life comedy about two unlikely roommates. They continued the story by crowdfunding a budget of 6k and shooting a short film in Las Vegas with the same name. “Lana and Emmy” was screened at Chicago International Indie Film Festival (2023), Nevada Women’s Film Festival (2024), Rock The Shorts (2024) (honorable mention), and Culver City Film Festival (2024)
As an actor, Lani has performance roles in more than 40 indie and student films. Highlights include the leading role of Louise in the sci fi comedy short film “A.R.T.” directed by Esmarelda Villalobos which was screened at Culver City Film Festival (2023), Inland Empire Film Festival (2024) and Marina Del Ray Film Festival (2024). Also, a supporting role of Sandy in “Visiting Friends” directed by Glenn Garrabrant which screened at Chicago International Indie Film Festival (2022), London Rocks (2022), Fisheye Film Festival (2023), South Texas International Indie Film Festival (2023), Culver City Film Festival (2023) and available to watch on Tubi.
Lani grew up on the east coast and spent many wonderful years in the great city of Chicago. Her background and collegiate training are in classical music. She has worked professionally as a soloist, opera singer, and voice and piano teacher.
